Toyota pushes the GRMN Corolla to its limits on Nürburgring
Toyota has officially unveiled the new GRMN Corolla, the most extreme and performance-focused version ever created for its popular compact model.
Developed by Toyota Gazoo Racing, the car was refined on demanding circuits such as Nürburgring in Germany and arrives as an even more radical evolution of the already impressive GR Corolla.
According to the Japanese manufacturer, the goal was to create a vehicle capable of delivering an experience as close as possible to a race car while remaining road legal.
Less weight, more performance
One of Toyota's main priorities was reducing the vehicle's weight.
The GRMN Corolla receives several specific components, including carbon-fiber elements, aerodynamic improvements and various modifications designed to increase chassis rigidity.
The company also states that the suspension has been revised, the steering recalibrated and the chassis reinforced to provide a more precise and direct driving experience.
The result is a Corolla that is more aggressive, faster on track and even more focused on driving enjoyment.
Racing DNA
Under the bonnet remains Toyota Gazoo Racing’s well-known 1.6-litre turbocharged three-cylinder engine.
Although Toyota has not yet revealed all final specifications for global markets, the model maintains a strong performance focus and benefits from several mechanical upgrades compared with the standard GR Corolla.
The GR-FOUR all-wheel-drive system remains part of the package, allowing power to be distributed to all four wheels and improving traction during demanding driving conditions.
According to Toyota, many of the modifications applied to the GRMN Corolla come directly from the brand’s experience in motorsport.
Limited production
As with previous GRMN models, the new Corolla will be produced in limited numbers.
Toyota intends to position the model as a special edition aimed at the most demanding enthusiasts, making it one of the most exclusive Corollas ever built.
For now, the manufacturer has not confirmed how many units will be produced or whether the model will be sold in Europe.
A Corolla like we've never seen before
Over the decades, the Corolla has built its reputation on reliability and everyday usability.
With the new GRMN Corolla, Toyota is showcasing a completely different side of the model, featuring a motorsport-inspired setup developed to deliver a far more intense driving experience.
For Gazoo Racing fans, this could very well be the most desirable Corolla ever created.
