Benecar – Cidade do Automóvel is headquartered in the centre of the country, in Moita do Gavião, part of Benedita, municipality of Alcobaça, district of Leiria.

Benecar – Cidade do Automóvel is open every day, from 09H00 to 20H00, including Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, with the exception of December 25th and January 1st.

Our workshop hours are from 09H00 am to 18H00 on weekdays.
Regarding the after-sales service (service and vehicle reception), the opening hours are from 08H00 to 19H00 on weekdays and from 09H00 to 13H00 and from 14H00 to 18H00 on Saturdays.

There are two different opening hours: in Lisbon, Berent Rent-a-Car's opening hours are from 08H00 to 20H00, every day, including Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, except for December 25th and January 1st.
In Benedita, the Berent service desk is located at the reception of the Benecar Cidade do Automóvel stand. Opening hours are from 09H00 am to 18H00 from monday to sarturday. Outside working hours (such as sundays and holidays), it only works for deliveries and collections by prior arrangement.

At Benecar – Cidade do Automóvel you will find cars from all brands and segments: SUV/Crossovers, City Cars, Utility Vehicles, Vans/Combis, Light Commercial Vehicles, Small City, Cars, Minivans, Sedans, Cargo Vans, Sports Cars/Coupes, Pick-up Trucks, Cabrios, Off-Road, among others.

Benecar – Cidade do Automóvel finds vehicles from all brands, with more than 25 automotive brands available for sale.

No! In addition to the vehicles we have available online at benecar.pt,, we also have many other vehicles that are in storage (for replacement) or in preparation in our workshops.

To find out the price of a specific car you have several options: register/log in to our website and, through the customer area, you will have access to the price of all vehicles. You may also request a proposal, without any kind of commitment, and you will later be contacted by our contact centre.

The request for proposal is simple! When searching for a certain vehicle, you may want to know more about it. Fill out the “no-commitment proposal request” form, entering your name and contact details, identify whether you will be giving a car for exchange and whether you will want financing (using the check boxes). We promise to get in touch within a maximum of 1 business day.

When you register on our website and do not receive your password, you can call +351 262925190 and select option 9 (everyday from 09H00 to 20H00). We will have an assistant to help you solve the problem.

Yes. After logging in, access the customer area and in the “profile” tab you can change your password.

Yes. We suggest that you send an email to dpo@benecar.pt requesting the deletion of your account. We will inform you as soon as your account has been deleted.

Benecar offers a wide range of services. The main one is buying and selling cars. But we also have workshops, rent-a-car, insurance (through the partnership with Vitorinos Seguros) and Financing (credit intermediary registered with Banco de Portugal under the number 0000944).

You can use the telephone line +351 262925197 on weekdays from 08H00 to 19H00.

Yes, through our rent-a-car, Berent brand, which is based in Portela-Loures, very close to Humberto Delgado Airport, in Lisbon. We also have a service desk on the premises of Benecar – Cidade do Automóvel (in Moita do Gavião). You can also use the website berent.pt and completely independently rent a car and at any time.

Yes. The majority of the vehicle fleet on display at Benecar – Cidade do Automóvel is available for test drives. To take a test drive, please contact one of our salespeople and bring your ID card and driver's license with you. You can also pre-schedule a test drive via benecar.pt using the appropriate form on each vehicle 's details page.

Our after-sales service is available from 08H00 to 19H00 on weekdays, either in person or by telephone (+351 262925197), both for warranty activation and after-sales service.

Yes, Benecar's after-sales service offers a courtesy car at no cost, subject to scheduling and availability. When you need a courtesy vehicle, you must mention it to the receptionist (in person or via telephone).

Yes, we accept all types of car exchanges (we do not accept exchanges of other types of goods). Just go to Benecar – Cidade do Automóvel in person, where a sales representative can help you with this process, or through the website benecar.pt, using the “no-commitment proposal” form.

Yes, upon analysis and if it is a business of interest to us. It must be a recent car (maximum 5 years old, have a maximum mileage of 100,000 km and a registered service history with the brand. We suggest that you use the compranumminuto.pt platform. We will answer as quickly as possible.

The deposit is an amount of money to be agreed between the seller and the buyer (usually worth 1000€), delivered at the time of signing the purchase and sale promissory contract, serving as a guarantee for the vehicle to be reserved and, thus, removed from the market, no longer accessible to other customers.

The termination of a purchase and sale promissory contract means non-compliance and it will not be possible to return the deposit. An exception to the rule is the case where there is an intention to get a car financing (with a proposal uploaded on the date of signing the purchase-sale promissory contract) and it has not been approved by the assigned/selected financial institution. In this case, the deposit will be returned without any type of loss to the customer.

Yes. You can either purchase a car through prompt payment or with car financing (total or partial). The financing approval is subject to review and approval by the assigned/selected financial entity.

The maximum financing term is 120 months (10 years); however, it depends on the year of the vehicle and the age of the contract holder.

If you are an individual customer, the documents required for financing are:

  • Citizen card or identity card;
  • Proof of address (examples: electricity, water or gas invoices; telecommunications or internet
  • service invoices; bank account statement; income statement);
  • Driver 's license;
  • IRS (model 3);
  • The last three salary receipts;
  • Proof of IBAN.

If you are a company, the necessary documents are:

  • Commercial certificate or CCR (Certificate of Commercial Registration);
  • C.R.B.O. (Central Register of the Beneficial Owner);
  • Company VAT number;
  • Proof of address;
  • Company IBAN;
  • Complete IES (Simplified Corporate Information);
  • CIT (Corporate Income Tax) and Annexes;
  • Last balance sheet;

The Benecar Total Warranty is a warranty that is unmatched by any other on the used car market in Portugal, which covers all types of breakdowns with the exception of wear parts.

The Benecar Total Warranty is valid for 18 months, by mutual agreement, starting on the date of vehicle collection.

The Benecar after-sales service will always prefer that the vehicle is serviced in our workshops. It allows us to control the service, the passed-on information, the courtesy vehicle (if applicable) and the quality of the material used in the intervention that may be necessary. Even so, in exceptional situations, often because the customer is from far away, we authorize intervention in other workshops as long as the process is coordinated/authorized/audited by our after-sales service.

Yes, as long as it is in a manufacturer's workshop. Overhauls, interventions or repairs in workshops other than those of Benecar or the manufacturer during the warranty period, only with coordination and authorization from our after-sales service. Failure to comply may mean the loss of the Benecar Total Guarantee.

All cars are of national origin, so we do not work with imported vehicles. In general, our main source of supply is the manufacturer brands or our rent-a-car (Berent brand).

Benecar only works with national vehicles for quality control reasons and historical transparency.

Yes. Benecar vehicles are repaired in our workshops in order to be delivered without any type of damage or breakdown. There is also a quality control before delivery that tests and evaluates the vehicle on more than 100 points.

Yes. It is part of the preparation process for a Benecar vehicle (always in accordance with the manufacturer's plan), as well as the quality control before delivery that tests and evaluates the vehicle on more than 100 points.

It depends. There are vehicles ready for immediate delivery, which can be delivered on time. The remaining vehicles (which are not ready for delivery) will have a preparation period of up to 20 working days.

Yes, upon analysis and availability. Additional expenses may occur depending on the day (varies between weekdays, weekends and holidays) and distance. Madeira and Azores are excluded.

No, the classic cars at the Benecar Museum are only on display and cannot be purchased.

Yes, it is located in Fernando Mendes Square! It's called Paddock Caffé and it's open every day between 09H00 and 20H00 (except December 25th and January 1st).

Yes, you can enter our facilities with companion animals (dogs or cats) as long as they are on a short leash or are properly restrained.

However, access or permanence may be denied to some animals that, due to their characteristics, behaviour, possible illness or lack of hygiene, disrupt the normal functioning of the establishment.
