Nissan Micra returns to the national market
The Nissan Micra is back in Portugal and enters a new phase in its history by appearing, for the first time, as a 100% electric model. This sixth generation arrives on the national market with a proposal designed for urban mobility, without overlooking technology, range, and a more appealing positioning for those looking to make the switch to electrification.
With a starting price of 27,750 euros, the new Micra aims to establish itself as an affordable option within the electric B segment. The brand is also offering a launch campaign with monthly payments starting at 199 euros and includes a five-year warranty, in a strategy clearly aimed at attracting more private customers, at a time when a large share of electric vehicle sales continues to be concentrated among companies.
More than just bringing back a historic name, Nissan is taking advantage of this return to introduce a car adapted to today’s demands. The new Micra keeps its compact format, at under four meters in length, which makes it particularly interesting for the city, where ease of maneuvering and parking remains an important factor. At the same time, it offers a 326-liter boot, which can reach 1106 liters with the rear seats folded down, reinforcing its day-to-day versatility.
Autonomy
One of the main arguments of this new model is its range. The electric Nissan Micra will be available with two battery options. The version with a 40 kWh battery announces up to 317 kilometers of range, while the 52 kWh version can reach up to 415 kilometers. This figure places the Japanese hatchback in an interesting position for those who mainly drive in urban and suburban environments, but want to keep enough margin for somewhat longer trips.
In terms of charging, the brand highlights the possibility of going from 15% to 80% in around 30 minutes with fast charging, depending on the version. In addition, the new Micra includes a heat pump and V2L technology, which allows external devices to be powered from the car’s battery, a solution still unusual in this segment and one that may be useful in different everyday contexts.
Technology
The focus on technology is also noticeable in the cabin. The model features a 10.1-inch digital instrument panel and a central touchscreen of the same size, concentrating navigation, multimedia, and vehicle management functions. The NissanConnect system integrates Google services, including Google Maps, and also offers compatibility with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. In practice, this translates into a more intuitive and connected experience, something increasingly valued by drivers.
Safety
In terms of safety and driving assistance, the Micra arrives well equipped. Among the available systems are ProPilot, emergency braking, blind spot warning, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, and rear cross traffic alert. For a compact city car, it is a very complete equipment list and aligned with what is expected today from a modern vehicle.
Equipment
The range will be organized into three trim levels: Engage, Advance, and Evolve. The 40 kWh versions will be available in the Engage and Advance trims, while the 52 kWh battery will be associated with the Advance and Evolve versions. The brand believes that this type of proposal may help broaden the base of electric vehicle buyers in Portugal, especially as more affordable models adapted to the real use of many drivers begin to appear.
The return of the Nissan Micra clearly shows how the automotive market is changing. A name with a strong tradition in the hatchback segment now reappears reinvented, with a clear focus on electric mobility, connectivity, and efficiency. For those looking for a compact, modern car with an interesting range for the segment, the new Micra enters the national market with solid arguments to deserve attention.
