On May 10, Cidade do Automóvel hosted the 4th edition of the Festival de Clássicos da Benedita, an event organized by Benecar – Cidade do Automóvel and Vitorinos Seguros, which once again brought together classic car enthusiasts in an atmosphere of conviviality, sharing, and celebration.
This edition featured more than 160 classic cars, coming from various parts of the country, on a day dedicated to automotive history and the passion for true machines of the past. Among the participants, some members of Grupo Minis Clássicos and Clube Clássicos Portugal were also represented, reinforcing the sense of community that has accompanied the growth of this festival.
The day started early, with the opening of the accreditation point in a Drive-In format, where participants received their participation kit before heading into Cidade do Automóvel. After the welcome snack and a brief briefing on the day’s program, the caravan hit the road towards Nazaré.
During the drive, the classics paraded along the region’s roads, passing along the Nazaré seafront, on a route marked by history, scenery, and the enthusiasm of those who watched the caravan pass by.
In Nazaré, the participants also had the opportunity to watch a performance by the Nazaré folk group Tá-Mar, which brought a moment of tradition and authenticity to the event, reinforcing the connection between classic cars, local culture, and intergenerational conviviality.
After leaving Nazaré, there was a brief stop in Cós, planned so that each participant could keep a photograph with their classic, before returning to Cidade do Automóvel.

Back at Benecar, the program continued with a buffet lunch, award ceremony, prize wheel, guided tour of Cidade do Automóvel, DJ entertainment, a training session, and several moments of conviviality between participants and visitors.
From 2:30 pm onwards, the event also opened its doors to the public, allowing all classic car enthusiasts to see some of the vehicles present up close and experience the unique atmosphere of the Festival de Clássicos da Benedita.
This edition also featured the presence of TVI, which covered the event for a report for the program GTI, giving greater visibility to the Festival de Clássicos da Benedita and to the way this gathering has been growing, year after year, among classic car enthusiasts.
Among the most eagerly awaited moments was the trophy ceremony. The award for Best Restored Car was given to the 1955 Borgward Isabella Coupé, while the title of Most Elegant Car distinguished the 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing. The award for Participant from Furthest Away was presented to Mr. João Reis, who came from Portimão driving a 1988 Renault 4L, and the award for Oldest Car was given to participant Diamantino Castelhano, with a 1948 Daimler DB18 Convertible.
The program ended with the Let’s Start training session, led by trainer João Paulo Lima, dedicated to the theme 60 minutes to learn how to wake your classic car up for the road.
More than a gathering of classic cars, the Festival de Clássicos da Benedita once again established itself as a moment of celebration of automotive history, friendship among participants, and the connection between Cidade do Automóvel and the community.
Benecar thanks all participants, visitors, partners, Nazaré City Council, Grupo H Saúde, and all the staff who contributed to making this 4th edition a special day.
Year after year, the Festival de Clássicos da Benedita continues to grow, keeping alive the passion for classic cars and the tradition of bringing together, at Cidade do Automóvel, stories, memories, and machines that continue to mark generations.
