António Félix da Costa signs for Jaguar and begins a new chapter in Formula E
António Félix da Costa will wear the colors of Jaguar TCS Racing in the upcoming Formula E season, marking the start of a new chapter in the Portuguese driver’s career. The former world champion of the electric series leaves Porsche, where he competed in recent seasons, to join one of the most prestigious and competitive teams in the championship.
A major addition for Jaguar
Jaguar TCS Racing has officially confirmed the signing of Félix da Costa for Season 12 of Formula E, the final season of the GEN3 Evo era. The Cascais-born driver, world champion in 2019/2020, will team up with New Zealander Mitch Evans, who is entering his tenth consecutive season with the British manufacturer.
Together, they form a powerhouse duo with a combined 370 race starts, 26 wins, 60 podiums, and 18 pole positions—making them the most successful pairing in Formula E history.
Ian James, Team Principal of Jaguar TCS Racing, expressed his confidence in the new addition:
“We are delighted to welcome António to Jaguar. His performance over the past 11 years has been outstanding, and his approach to racing aligns perfectly with our team’s values. We enter this season with renewed energy and a driver line-up that promises great results.”
A new adventure for the Portuguese driver
At 34 years old and with a solid career in electric racing, António Félix da Costa is one of the most respected names in the championship, being among the few drivers who have competed since Formula E’s inception in 2014. Over 11 seasons, the Portuguese driver has collected 12 victories and numerous podiums, representing teams such as Aguri, Andretti, DS Techeetah, and Porsche.
During his time with Porsche, he secured five victories—four of them in 2024. Now with Jaguar, Félix da Costa shows both enthusiasm and ambition:
“Joining Jaguar TCS Racing, a team with a long history in motorsport, is a great honor. I’ve always admired the team’s resilience and its pursuit of performance and innovation. I’m eager to start this new chapter and help take the team to new heights.”
Season 12 of Formula E kicks off on December 6 in São Paulo, Brazil. With the new Jaguar I-TYPE 7 and a team clearly on the rise, António Félix da Costa aims to return to winning ways and fight once again for the world title he first captured in 2020.
