While training in Luso, Sporting Clube de Portugal, sponsored by Benecar - Cidade do Automóvel since 2016, faced two teams from the region: Vilaverdense and Centro Social São João.
In the first duel, the team coached by Nuno Dias beat Vilaverdense, who compete in the 3rd Division National Championship, by an impressive 10-1 and, in the second game, they beat Centro Social São João, from the 2nd Division, 11-0. Without most of the squad, who are competing in the Futsal World Cup in Uzbekistan, this was the perfect opportunity for the young promises of the club to show their service.
In the remaining preparation matches for the 2024/25 season, which is expected to be demanding once again for the Lions, who are aiming to win all the competitions on offer, Sporting beat Bairro Boa Esperança (4-1), Eléctrico (8-1) and Leões de Porto Salvo (4-1), and lost to Anderlecht in the Oeiras Valley Futsal Cup 2024.
