Rally de Portugal 2025
Between 15 and 18 May, the engines will roar once again with the eagerly awaited Rally de Portugal 2025. The event, one of the most iconic on the WRC calendar, promises a spectacle of speed and technique over four intense days, crossing iconic landscapes in the north and centre of the country. This year, there are 24 special stages totalling around 344 timed kilometres over a total distance of 1788 km, making this one of the most demanding editions in recent years.
Rally de Portugal 2025 is, for the moment, the event with the most entries of the season, with 95 teams starting, including 12 cars in the Rally1 category and 55 in the Rally2 category. The number of participants far exceeds the 70 in the Monte-Carlo Rally and the 63 in the Spanish event. The list includes 13 Portuguese drivers.
Is also a showcase for the big names in motorsport. In 2024, the winner was Belgian Thierry Neuville, driving the Hyundai i20 N Rally1, who took victory after a close fight with Elfyn Evans (Toyota) and Ott Tänak (M-Sport Ford). Neuville arrives in 2025 determined to defend his title, while Sébastien Ogier, Kalle Rovanperä and Dani Sordo also promise to animate the fight for the podium. Portugal has been the scene of great moments and surprises, and this edition promises to be no exception.
THURSDAY | 15TH MAY 2025
The competition kicks off on Thursday with the traditional Shakedown in Baltar, a decisive moment for final adjustments and reconnaissance of the terrain. Later, the city of Coimbra hosts the opening ceremony, which precedes the explosive night Super Special in Figueira da Foz, designed to offer an urban spectacle to rally fans.
FRIDAY | 16TH MAY 2025
Friday 16th will be the most demanding day of the race. The caravan heads to the centre of the country to tackle ten timed sections, especially the Lousã, Góis, Arganil, Águeda and Sever do Vouga stages, totalling 146 km on the clock. This will be a real test of the drivers‘ consistency and the machines’ endurance, with more than 680 kilometres covered over the course of the day.
SATURDAY | 17 MAY 2025
On Saturday, the rally moves northwards, where the Vieira do Minho, Cabeceiras de Basto and Amarante sections put the competitors' skills to the test. Amarante, with over 37 kilometres, is the longest section of the rally and one of the most emblematic in the competition's history. The day ends with the always exciting Lousada Super Special.
SUNDAY | 18TH MAY 2025
Sunday marks the end of the race, with the decisions to be made on the Paredes, Felgueiras and, of course, Fafe stages. The Power Stage in Fafe 2, scheduled for 1.15pm, will be the stage for the final battle for precious points, where every tenth of a second can be decisive for the championship. The iconic Fafe ramp and the jumps that precede it continue to be one of the great moments of the WRC, attracting fans from all over the world.
Além da competição, o rali conta com zonas de reabastecimento e assistência fundamentais, estrategicamente posicionadas na Exponor, em Arganil e Fridão, assegurando todo o apoio técnico necessário às equipas.
