A Nissan Qashqai, manufactured in Sunderland, has broken the world record for the highest bungee jump ever performed in a car.
With a driver inside, suspended by a crane and attached only by an elastic cable, the Japanese brand's SUV was “released” from a height of 65 meters, without suffering any significant damage.
The feat was part of an advertising campaign for the new model, which includes improvements to the front grille and updates to the e-Power hybrid system. The promotional video will be broadcast on European television during the month of September, although it was shown for the first time last Sunday on the French channel TF1, presented by Denis Brogniart, a famous television presenter and brand ambassador.
The event, held on the outskirts of Paris, was in collaboration with Nissan France, the Fuse and Nissan United agencies, and the BBC. The record was officially validated by a representative of Guinness World Records.
