Electric GLC is the highlight of Mercedes-Benz at IAA MOBILITY 2025
Mercedes-Benz once again takes center stage in global mobility with the world premiere of the all-new fully electric GLC, officially unveiled at IAA MOBILITY 2025 in Munich. This launch marks a key milestone in the brand’s most ambitious rollout plan in its history, signaling the beginning of a new era focused on electrification and technological innovation.
IAA MOBILITY 2025, also known as the Munich Motor Show, takes place from September 9 to 14 in the German city and combines two main formats. The IAA Summit (September 9–12) takes place at Messe München and is aimed at industry professionals, featuring exhibitors, networking, and conferences with over 500 international speakers. Meanwhile, the IAA Open Space (September 9–14) transforms the city center into a large, open-access urban fair, with exhibitions, test drives, and interactive activities. The event has evolved from a traditional motor show into a global platform for mobility, sustainability, and technological innovation, bringing together manufacturers, startups, policymakers, and citizens in a true collaborative ecosystem.
The new GLC with EQ technology is the first of a new generation of models featuring a refined and iconic design. With distinctive lines and a recognizable stance, this SUV embodies the balance between the brand’s legacy and the future of electric mobility. Intuitive, versatile, and fully aligned with Mercedes-Benz’s premium standards, the electric GLC is designed to remain one of the most sought-after vehicles in the brand’s portfolio.
The Stuttgart-based brand is showcasing an impressive lineup of electric and electrified models at the event, not only on display but also available for hands-on driving experiences. Among the highlights are the new CLA, the fully electric CLA Shooting Brake, and the innovative CONCEPT AMG GT XX prototype. The future of Mercedes’ commercial vehicle division is also previewed with the presentation of the VLE, a camouflaged electric limousine prototype set to hit the roads in 2026.
At the Open Space area, located in the Apothekenhof and Hall B3, visitors can closely explore the brand’s latest technologies, including advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), the Intelligent Cockpit, and the Digital Extras available through the Mercedes me ID platform.
Mercedes-Benz is also offering a fleet of 30 electric and electrified vehicles for co-drives, allowing visitors to experience autonomous driving capabilities firsthand via the MB.DRIVE ASSIST PRO system. During the test drives, attendees can also try out the DRIVE PILOT experience in models such as the EQS and the S-Class, accompanied by brand specialists on each journey.
In addition to the open-air presentations, the Mercedes-Benz stand at the Messe München Summit hosts innovation forums and technical demonstrations aimed at industry professionals. Featured in this space are the new electric GLC, the CLA Shooting Brake, and the CONCEPT AMG GT XX – a showcar previewing the first production model based on the AMG Electric architecture.
For those unable to attend in person, Mercedes-Benz will livestream the GLC pre-launch event on September 7 via the platform media.mercedes-benz.com
