Benecar is preparing to launch its first self-made model: the Gavião
Note: Fictitious article created as part of April Fool's Day. Thanks for getting into the spirit 😄
Benecar is taking a historic step in its path of growth and innovation with the development of its first self-made car model: the Gavião.
This step is part of the brand's expansion strategy, which aims to strengthen its presence at a national level, maintaining the values of proximity, quality and trust that have always distinguished it, and, above all, to enter the international market, expanding its horizons across borders.
The Gavião model is currently in an advanced study phase, with several advances already made, with a view to its launch by the end of 2027 or the beginning of 2028. Inspired by the characteristics of the bird that gives it its name, the Gavião will be an agile and fast car, as well as technologically advanced. It is designed to be 100 per cent electric, incorporating a partial solar charging system, both when driving and when parked, offering benchmark autonomy and environmental efficiency.
Among the innovations planned are semi-autonomous driving technology, interiors with recyclable and natural materials, and an intelligent digital interface capable of adapting to each user's driving profile.
To support this project, a new factory is to be built in Benedita and completed by 2027. The decision to keep this investment in the land where it all began is not only strategic, but deeply rooted in the brand's identity, which has always valued its origins. The new factory is expected to create more than 300 direct jobs, generating a significant economic impact on the town and the entire Western region.
‘We believe this is the natural evolution of the Benecar brand. After more than three decades of working with the best car brands, the time has come to design our own future, with a product with Portuguese roots that reflects what we believe in,’ says Dr Nuno Grosa, Chairman of Benecar.
Dr Nuno VerÃssimo, Managing Director, stresses: ‘The decision to keep production in Portugal, and in particular in Benedita, is strategic, emotional and the hallmark of great companies: to be faithful to their identity without ever neglecting their own. We want the first Benecar car to be, above all, a source of pride for all those who have contributed to the company's growth, as well as for all Portuguese people. (...) The Gavião is not just a car. It's a project with a soul, combining technology, tradition and a vision of the future in a single concept. We want to take the name of Benedita and Portugal even further, with a world-class product.’
Mais novidades em breve.
