Hennessey takes the 2,031 hp manual Venom F5-M to Goodwood
At a time when virtually every hypercar relies on automatic transmissions and electrification, Hennessey has decided to take a completely different path.
The American manufacturer has unveiled the new Hennessey Venom F5-M, an ultra-exclusive edition that combines an astonishing 2,031 hp 6.6-litre twin-turbo Fury Evolution V8 with a six-speed gated manual transmission, a solution that has become almost extinct in this segment.
The model will make its dynamic debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, one of the world's most prestigious automotive events.
The world's most powerful manual hypercar
At the heart of the Venom F5-M is Hennessey's renowned 6.6-litre twin-turbo Fury V8, now upgraded to the Evolution specification, producing an incredible 2,031 hp and 1,960 Nm of torque.
All of this power is sent exclusively to the rear wheels, making the Venom F5-M one of the most extreme production cars ever built.
According to Hennessey, this makes it the world's most powerful manual-transmission hypercar.
Unlike the automatic gearbox fitted to the standard Venom F5, this version features a six-speed gated manual transmission. In this type of gearbox, the gear lever moves through visible metal gates, requiring the driver to guide it through a precise mechanical path between gears. Besides delivering more accurate shifts, it offers a far more engaging mechanical feel and is widely regarded as a hallmark of classic high-performance sports cars.
According to Hennessey, the goal was never to build the easiest hypercar to drive, but rather to bring back a driving experience that is becoming increasingly rare in today's automotive industry.
John Hennessey, the company's founder and CEO, says the Venom F5-M takes that philosophy even further by putting the driver completely in control through the new manual gearbox. According to him, the combination of the Fury V8, the manual transmission and the exhaust soundtrack delivers "the most all-consuming driving experience we've ever created."
Motorsport-inspired aerodynamics
The Venom F5-M stands out for far more than just its transmission.
Its most striking visual feature is the large carbon-fibre dorsal fin, inspired by endurance racing prototypes, designed to improve stability at extremely high speeds.
The hypercar also receives a new rear spoiler, revised aerodynamic components and several carbon-fibre body elements developed to increase downforce without compromising top speed.
Inside, the highlight is the new machined aluminium gear lever, positioned at the centre of the cabin and designed to make every gear change more precise and engaging.
Only 12 units
Exclusivity is one of the Venom F5-M's biggest selling points.
Hennessey has confirmed that production will be limited to just 12 units worldwide, making it one of the rarest models the company has ever built.
Each example will carry a starting price of $2.65 million, before taxes and optional extras.
The first deliveries are scheduled for 2027, following the model's public debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
With 2,031 hp, rear-wheel drive and a six-speed manual gearbox, the Venom F5-M brings back a driving experience that is becoming increasingly rare in the hypercar world. Its appearance at Goodwood will give the public its first chance to see in action what Hennessey describes as the world's most powerful manual hypercar.
